■Passengers who board and alight in Sapporo.
From the New Chitose Airport, the gateway to Hokkaido, you will be escorted to Lake Shikotsu, one of the few clearest lakes in Japan, and then to Sapporo. Lake Shikotsu, is not merely just the clearest, but the second deepest lake in Japan, at 360 meters, succeeding Lake Tazawa in Akita prefecture. Due to its depth, it is also an ice-free lake. There are many Ainu legends in relation to the depth of the lake. The lake has been selected as one of the Most Clean Lakes by the Ministry of Environment. There are lake cruises that allow you to enjoy the surrounding scenery from the vantage point of the boat(cruise fare needed), which is also breathtaking. This course is a great way to start the first day of your stay, which would otherwise end in just heading directly to your hotel to check in. The bus will also stop at the major hotels listed on the course, so you can use it not just for sightseeing, but for shuttle service to your hotel too! (does not return to New Chitose Airport)
