Chitose Aquarium features one of Japan’s largest freshwater tanks. Here, visitors observe salmon, freshwater fish native to Hokkaido, and unique freshwater species from around the world.
The “Underwater Observation Zone,” a first of its kind in Japan, lets you get an up-close view of the seasonal activities of Chitose River’s aquatic life.

- Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival
This is a limited-time tour operating during the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival. The ice sculptures, made from the crystal-clear waters of Lake Shikotsu, are beautifully illuminated, creating a fantastic and mystical display.
 
*Admission to the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival is not included. (Adults: ¥1,000;children under elementary school age enter for free)

Lake Shikotsu Illumination and Ice Festival (Excluding Multilingual Audio System)

This course coincides with the “Lake Shikotsu Hyoto Festival,” a festival of ice held on the shores of Lake Shikotsu each winter. The objects of ice are made from Lake Shikotsu’s clear water, and illuminated with a myriad of colored lights creating a fantastic and mystical atmosphere!
 
*Admission to the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival is not included in this course. Each passenger must pay for the entry fee. (Adults: 1,000 yen; 11 years old and younger: free)
